Don’t Let Fear Of The Dentist Compromise Your Oral Health

Don’t Let Fear Of The Dentist Compromise Your Oral Health

If you have claustrophobia, you avoid enclosed spaces. If you have arachnophobia, you stay away from spiders. Fair enough! But if you fear the dentist you may be inclined to avoid checkups. At Harris Dental in Phoenix, we know this is a bad idea. Sedation dentistry may be just what you need.

The connection between your dental health and overall health is by now well-established. Skipping regular checkups due to fear, or any other reason, puts your general health at risk, too.

Help Is Here
We offer three types of sedation: nitrous oxide, oral conscious sedation, and IV sedation.

  • Nitrous Oxide. Better known as laughing gas, nitrous has been used with great success in dentistry for more than one hundred years. It works quickly and wears off quickly.
  • Oral Conscious Sedation. This involves taking a prescribed sedative an hour or so before your appointment. It won’t put you out, but it will make you very groggy. An escort to and from our office is required.
  • IV Sedation. As the name implies, a strong sedative is adminsitered through a needle. It puts you in an even deeper state of relaxation. You’ll need a ride with this, too.

Sedation dentistry from Harris Dental in Phoenix has allowed countless patients to get the treatment they deserve. We offer a full range of general dentistry services. Call one of our offices to schedule an appointment today!
