Our Culture

As the Harris Dental family grows, it has become imperative to tell our patients and community the core values from which we develop our culture from. Here are our 10 core values we live by: What we want our work environment to be like!

  1. Happily Make it Happen

    No explanation needed.

  2. Talk. We’ll Listen.

    We show that we really care. One of the hallmarks of our practice is that our patients know that we really care about them as people, not just about their teeth. Personal concern can be shown in many ways. We are interested in other team members and our patients. The reason people come to us and keep coming back is that we help them solve their total problems. If we can help in any way, lend a listening ear or point them in the right direction, that’s what we want to do. So look, ask, listen and be perceptive.

  3. Be a Problem-Solver

    Not a finger-pointer. It doesn’t take much to identify a problem and tell everyone about it. It takes a great team member to identify possible solutions and act on them. In our organization we all agree that if you identify a problem, you will identify three possible solutions!

  4. Do What You Say You’ll Do

    No debate. The reason our team works well together is because everyone can depend on everyone else 100%. When we commit to do something for a team member, patient, or supplier, we make sure it gets done, when we promised, as we promised. We follow up. Team members form the habit of following up on actions they have initiated or things for which they have taken responsibility. We do whatever we can to make sure there are no loose ends and that we get closure on the things we are doing.

  5. Change Is Coming

    Part of being in a growing company is that change is constant. Changes are always taking place. Don’t worry about them. We consider them healthy and positive. We must all learn not only to not fear change, but to also embrace it enthusiastically, and perhaps even more importantly, to encourage and drive it. We must always plan for and be prepared for constant change. We are ever evolving.

  6. Be Who You Are. Nice.

    The Golden Rule. Everyone likes to be treated with respect. Saying “please” and “thank you” to fellow team members, as well as to our patients, demonstrates an attitude of respect and cooperation. We always treat each other and our patients how we want to be treated.

  7. W.I.T.

    Whatever it takes. Everyone likes to work on a team with individual members who are willing to do whatever it takes to make things happen. When asked to help or contribute, team members frequently respond by saying, “Happy to do it.” Having a willing attitude makes teamwork happen. We believe in involvement and participation by everyone. We speak up, give opinions, and make suggestions for new things we could be doing that will get better results with our patients. We don’t wait for someone to ask our opinion. We jump in and make a contribution!

  8. It’s Only Work If It’s Not Fun!

    Have fun. Be quirky. We believe that what you do every day needs to be fun and exciting. Its only work if you dread it. If you love what you do, you’ll never have to worry about doing it well. We look for fun and quirkiness in our every day work. One of the side effects of encouraging fun and quirkiness is that it encourages people to think outside the box and be more innovative. When you combine the two, it ends up being a win-win for everyone.

  9. Value Each Other

    We are family. The best team members have a positive influence on one another and everyone they encounter. They strive to eliminate any kind of cynicism and negative interactions. They strive to create harmony with each other and with everyone else they come in contact with. Unleash the greatness of others, inside and outside this company. A key ingredient in strong relationships is to develop emotional connections. It’s important to always act with integrity in your relationships, to be compassionate, friendly, loyal, and to make sure that you do the right thing and treat your relationships well. We are more than just a team – we are a family. We watch out for each other, care for each other, and go above and beyond for each other because we believe in each other and we trust each other.

  10. Live In The Moment

    You only live once. Always try to be the best version of yourself. Always respond… don’t react. Be glad for others and show gratitude for what we have. Choose to be happy. Choose to do good!
